Shippon

Shippon is just a stone's throw to the west of Abingdon, and on its doorstep is Dalton Barracks, the former RAF Abingdon air station.

There are remnants of the old village around the parish church, the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, but the ugly housing provided by the Ministry of Defence for its forces really dominates the village.
