MILTON UNDER WYCHWOOD

Milton under Wychwood is one of the three Wychwod villages but is not what I would describe as a typical pretty Cotswold village. It straggles along Shipton Road, High Street and Church Road with a mixture of ages and architectural styles and the appearance reminds me more of the streetscape of a town, rather than a village. These three roads meet in the centre of the village where there is a large playing field and a play area for younger children. The remainder of the village appears to be mainly 20th century housing.

The parish church in Milton under Wychwood is the Church of St. Simon and St. Jude and was built in the mid 19th century. For information about the Church of St. Simon and St. Jude click here.

Milton under Wychwood is on the edge of the Evenlode valley about three quarters of a mile from nearby Shipton under Wychwood and about 4 miles north of Burford just off the A361.
